- Gunnar Olsen
Gunnar Olsen is an in demand studio drummer in New York, having worked with greats such as Bruce Springsteen, John Legend, and most recently, Puscifer – which is what brings us together today. Puscifer is a side project started by Maynard James Keenan, of TOOL fame. Gunnar appears on two studio tracks and the entire live performance of their latest album, “Existential Reckoning – LIVE at Arcosanti”. “Everybody deserves to feel the way I feel. I’ve been really fortunate to do some cool things recently… All of us have so much potential. Creative people – if we can just get past this ‘how are we going to pay the rent for the next 6 months?’, which is always hard as an artist, but feels really hard right now…. I think good things are ahead of all of us. It’s just going to take a little bit.”- Gunnar Olsen
- Mark Bryan
Video edition: https://youtu.be/GKGNwDCXUfY Mark Bryan is known for being a man in heels, pantyhose, and a skirt. This native Texan is a robotics engineer living in Germany – he’s married with children and loves working on vintage Porsches. On today’s episode, Mark and I dress up in our favorite tights and heels, hang out in our garages next to his Porsche and my motorcycle, and discuss the finer points of German engineering, style, and living authentically. Girls can wear jeans and cut their hair shortWear shirts and boots ’cause it’s okay to be a boyBut for a boy to look like a girl is degrading’Cause you think that being a girl is degradingBut secretly you’d love to know what it’s like wouldn’t youWhat it feels like for a girl- Madonna, “What It Feels Like For A Girl” If you have confidence in yourself and you go out in the world, people will see that. If you don’t have it, all they see is someone that’s weak and scared. If you are weak and scared… that’s when the wolves will attack. The wolves are predators, they like to attack the weak. The bullies and the people who can’t understand it, they’ll see that weakness and that’s when they track with the verbal abuse or the physical abuse. If you walk tall and confident like you know what you’re doing and you believe in yourself, people will leave you alone. – Mark Bryan “If you can create something time cannot erode, something which ignores the eccentricities of particular eras or moments, something truly timeless, this is the ultimate victory.” – Dr. Ferry Porsche
Chicago jazz bassist Junius Paul transposes the jazz ethos of improvisation into his clothing: Junius wears tights. Check out his images – the alchemy of jazz permeates his personal style. Today’s guest, Jake Garn is a photographer – not the astronaut by the same name. My old photography buddy and radio co-host put on our waders and get deep into topics like Neil DeGrasse Tyson’s childhood wounds, Satan’s real identity, a naked prophet on the beach, and being flat-earth-curious. Bring a couple of extra drinks with you on this one. You can thank me later.

They’ve shared the stage with country music greats such as Wynona Judd, Brett Eldredge, Diamond Rio, Old Dominion, and countless others. - Ask Me Anything Dec 2019
Your questions: Most comfortable dress shoes? Your go-to shoe designer? Do you switch it up and wear wedges? Favorite shoes? Do you never get sore feet or bad back? Asking as a woman who could never wear heals. And what about stockings, mine used to get wholes all the time, the old advice to put on some nail polish never seemed to work. Any advice? How are you walking with your lady, if you’ve got the sweeter gams, fella? Barrier to intimacy or righteous truth? What one thing can I do for my boys to be as confident as you are? Do you shave legs ? Biggest heel you’ve ever worn? (Platform counts) Do you think you can get enough donations and poll numbers to qualify for the January debate? How did you get over your fear (if you had any) to dress in public? How do you respond when people are hostile to you in person? Does that happen a lot? Sorry, that was 3 questions. Well how did it start? Dare from friends? Magnetic feeling? Its interesting to see a figure such as yourself be so open and comfortable with your choice of apparel. From what Ive seen, you’re also straight, which makes me even more curious. So how did it start? what do you like to eat for breakfast on a regular day? Did you see or hear that individual record you? Has it happened before if so how do you deal with it or if someone confronts/approaches you in a negative manner? Ever get positive reactions? Do u put milk or cereals first When you’re in public & draw attention that sometimes isn’t positive attention, how do you respond? If any response at all. I admire you for your bravery & authenticity & how you present yourself to the world regardless of the inevitable. What is your greatest passion in life, e.g. cooking, fishing, running, etc? I currently know 2 men who do the same , for me it’s more trying to understand the women in their lives accepting it. Gonna admit I find it weird but have nothing against either one in my life. Do the shoes hurt your feet? I’m a total clumsy ass klutz. How in the sam hell do you werkIT and not fall over, trip or break an ankle?? Seriously. I can’t walk in heels. ps I adore your legs. Why do guys just want friends with benefits and not relationship? Can you believe that people are still so close-minded? Wouldn’t you hope..that as a society… we wouldn’t judge on appearance alone? What was the react of your wife when you said : darling i wear pantyhose skirt and heels You look like an ass https://youtu.be/4gScfJ9k62E Links to the Dr. Glover episodes I mentioned:https://soulanarchist.com/dr-robert-glover-rites-of-passage/https://soulanarchist.com/no-more-mr-nice-guy-dr-robert-glover/ Buy my favorite hosiery (seen below), the Lucido 20 by Cecilia de Rafael.
- Rabbi Levinsky: Moral Outrage
Rabbi David Levinsky shares the story of Moses shattering the original set of tablets in a fit of moral outrage. We talk about what we can learn about coming into a healthy relationship with our own moral outrage. We also discuss the mystery of why middle aged people lose their edge, where it goes, and the burden of the forgiver. Another killer convo with the good Rabbi. https://youtu.be/nFATzvcswpE
- Dr Robert Glover: Rites of Passage
What is a rite of passage? What does that look like in modern society? What goes wrong when boys aren’t properly initiated into manhood? Dr. Robert Glover, author of “No More Mr. Nice Guy”, teaches us about how rites of passage turn boys into healthy men. I think a number of the mass shootings we have seen have been fueled by the same thing, of men not having tribe or initiation, yet riding tribe in an angry group. Lashing out against some group who they perceive as being the cause of their suffering. Uninitiated men tend to dwell in their bitterness and negativity and helplessness, and I think that does get manifested in some pretty dark ways.Dr. Robert Glover “It’s in our DNA to be mentored and initiated by tribe. We will go seek it in one form or another. I imagine young men tend to seek it through social media, video games, online forums (alt right, white supremacists, manosphere, MGTOW)… More of the darker side feeds a negativity and bitterness – the INCELS, young men that can’t get laid and are angry at women about that, If we don’t get initiated into a healthy masculine, women are not going to be particularly attracted or drawn to us, or want to get naked with us.Dr. Robert Glover It’s unconsciously leading men to seek out tribe, to seek out mentors, even if they don’t know that is what they are doing. Men maybe don’t intellectually know they need mentored and need a tribe of men but emotionally they do, and emotionally, they go looking for it one way or another. - Morris Kunz
On episode 380, Morris and I mentioned getting together to just catch up and have some man talk. I received a lot of feedback that you’d like to be privy to that conversation. Here it is. We crack some of my favorite beers (Uinta Cuthroat, delicious!) turn on the mics and just talk. Topics include relationships, insecurities, psychedelic experiences, southern Utah, beer, and how to cry like a man. https://youtu.be/0vI5ceoOVoo

- Hunter Allan
I never thought I’d meet another guy who could rock pantyhose and heels better than I can, but here it is! Hunter Allan is a stereotype defying model and online personality from Draper, Utah – one of the hardest places to exist if you don’t fit in. We talk about life as a non-gender conforming teen, his relationship with his father, and going to church in heels. For those who are curious about our hosiery – on today’s show, Hunter was wearing Exclusive 15’s by Gabriella, and I was wearing Lucido 20’s by Cecilia de Rafael, courtesy of Hosieree.com Some feminine gays try to act more masculine on social media so they get more followers, because that’s what people follow, I attracted a base that wanted me for me, because I’m authentic. Hunter Allan “Sometimes they want me to always be serving this type of a look… Sometimes I feel more masculine, I grow my beard out and my legs… and I just do me. My followers don’t like it when I post stuff like that. I’m happy with that.” “Everyone has their own label and I don’t think it’s necessarily good. It’s kind of toxic.” You can’t place me in a box. I’m just Hunter Allan. I’ not a boy, I’m not a girl, if I want to wear heels, I’ll wear heels and if I want to wear sweats, I’ll do that too. Hunter Allan
- Kristen Ulmer
Kristen Ulmer dominated the ski world for years as a member of the US Ski Team and the #1 female extreme ski athlete in the world. She redefined the sport for women, had numerous close calls with death, and ultimately became a student of Zen Buddhism to change her relationship to fear. Today she is an author, speaker, and sought after performance coach, helping people improve their relationship to fear and level up their lives. It’s really important to start with examining your relationship with fear. It’s the relationship that you have with yourself at your core. If you try to fight or conquer or overcome fear, you are trying to fight yourself. You are going to be at war with yourself. It’s going to prove to be an unwindable war that will tax most of your resources. Kristen Ulmer However successful you are is dependent upon how much willingness you have to take a risk. Your willingness to take a risk is your willingness to feel fear. People who are high achievers have an intimate, inclusive relationship with fear, where they are willing to feel fear, they are willing to take a risk and step out of their comfort zone. There is no learning and growing without a willingness to feel fear.Kristen Ulmer Buy her book Connect with Kristen at www.KristenUlmer.com
